The Scanivalve UTR-P 16-Channel Passive Temperature Reference (UTR-P) is a self-contained cold-junction module that accepts 16 pairs of two-wire thermocouple leads. It uses an isothermal aluminium block with two RTDs to provide ±0.1 °C reference accuracy, subject to the accuracy of the installed RTDs, and requires no external power.
Key Features
- Sixteen thermocouple channels, accepting 16 pairs of thermocouple wires within one reference module
- Broad two-wire thermocouple support, including types E, J, K, N, R, S and T
- Passive cold-junction operation, requiring no dedicated electrical power source
- Uniform aluminium reference block, providing an isothermal cold-junction environment for all connected channels
- Two integrated RTDs, positioned at opposite ends of the aluminium block to measure its reference temperature
- Reference accuracy of ±0.1 °C, based on the accuracy of the RTDs installed in the unit
- Mating connector supplied as standard, providing connections to every thermocouple terminal and both RTDs
- Thermally insulated enclosure, with insulation lining the lid and base to isolate the cold junction
- Secure thermocouple wire retention, with the insulated lid holding the wires in place when closed and latched
- Rugged self-contained construction, supporting integration with external thermocouple measurement systems
Note: The UTR-P is a passive reference module and does not digitise or display measurements. Thermocouple and RTD readings must be collected using an external measurement system.
Benefits
- Provides a common cold-junction reference for up to 16 thermocouple measurement channels.
- Supports varied temperature-measurement setups without requiring separate modules for common thermocouple types.
- Eliminates dedicated power wiring through fully passive operation.
- Helps maintain a stable reference environment through the insulated isothermal block design.
- Simplifies connection to external instrumentation with the supplied mating connector.
- Supports dependable field and test-cell installations through secure wire retention and rugged construction.
Why Choose the Scanivalve UTR-P 16-Channel Passive Temperature Reference (UTR-P)?
The UTR-P provides a straightforward way to establish a uniform cold-junction reference for 16 thermocouple channels without requiring an internal power supply. Its dual-RTD aluminium block, broad thermocouple acceptance and insulated enclosure support reliable integration with external temperature-acquisition equipment.
