Luer tapers that are constructed to meet ISO 594-1 and 594-2 standards
Rotating locks minimize twisting and kinking of tubing during positioning
Tapered cone seals are reliable and uncomplicated
Facilitate single-use configurations that minimize downtime
These luer fittings come in many configurations and several materials, joining tubing from 1/16" (1.6 mm) ID to 1/4" (6.4 mm) ID. The taper of the female luer is designed to match the taper of the male luer, creating a secure and leak-free connection when the two parts are joined together. These luer fittings also have an outer 1/4-28 UNF thread for panel mounting. The 200 series barb offers outstanding performance characteristics when used with flexible tubing. Tubing is expanded by 50% above its nominal inside diameter, permitting high-pressure capabilities. Because the fittings are made to ISO standards that are well understood globally, it ensures proper interconnections and often removes the need to retrofit*.
Options include nylon, polycarbonate, or polypropylene resin.
Common features of nylon include a high mechanical strength, great balance of stiffness and toughness, good performance at high temperatures, good electrical and flammability properties, and resistance against abrasion or chemicals. It can be sterilized using gamma radiation, Ethylene oxide (EtO), or autoclave.
Polypropylene is clarified and produced without any animal derived components or phthalates. It can be sterilized using gamma radiation, Ethylene oxide (EtO), E-beam, or autoclave.
Polycarbonate is transparent and features high impact, chemical, UV, and electrical resistance. Sterilization is only recommended via ethylene oxide (EtO). Gamma radiation up to 10 Mrads is possible with minor loss of physical properties - it will discolor to a yellow-green hue. Autoclave is not recommended and may crack the fitting.
