The CEM MultiPep 2™ system (formerly MultiPep RSi) is an automated multiple peptide synthesizer based on a pipetting robot operated by dedicated Windows-based software. The synthesis scale on resin ranges from 1 to 500 µmol, depending on the synthesis module used. This versatile system also supports automated synthesis of membrane-bound peptide arrays. The chemistry is optimized for Fmoc-based peptide synthesis with activation by HBTU/NMM or a similar protocol. A single probe picks up reagents and distributes them precisely into the wells of the reaction module. Amino acid solutions are activated by adding activator and base in individual mixing vials before distribution. Reagents are held in the reaction wells by surface tension and extracted by vacuum applied through the bottom of the reaction module via the included pump. The MultiPep 2™ is delivered complete with Windows-based software and PC for efficient control and operation.
