The CEM MultiPep 2™ system (formerly MultiPep RSi) is an automated multiple peptide synthesizer controlled by a pipetting robot and operated using dedicated Windows-based software. The synthesis scale on resin ranges from 1 to 500 µmol depending on the synthesis module used. This system also supports automated synthesis of membrane-bound peptide arrays. It is optimized for Fmoc-based peptide synthesis with activation by HBTU/NMM or similar protocols. A single probe picks up reagents and distributes them precisely into the wells of the reaction module. Amino acid solutions are activated by adding activator and base in individual mixing vials before distribution. Reagents remain in the reaction wells by surface tension and are removed by vacuum applied through the bottom of the reaction module via an included pump. The MultiPep 2™ is delivered with Windows-based software and a PC for efficient operation.
