The MultiPep 2™ system (formerly MultiPep RSi) is an automated multiple peptide synthesizer based on a pipetting robot operated by a dedicated PC software. The synthesis scale on-resin varies from 1-500 µmol, depending on the synthesis module used. The system can also be used for automated synthesis of membrane-bound peptide arrays. The chemistry is optimized for Fmoc-based peptide synthesis with activation by HBTU/NMM or a similar protocol. A single probe picks up reagents and distributes them to the wells of the reaction module. Amino acid solutions are activated by adding activator and base in individual mixing vials before distribution. Reagents are held in the reaction wells by surface tension and are extracted by vacuum (via included pump) applied to the bottom of the reaction module. The MultiPep 2™ is delivered with a Windows based software and PC. NOTE: THIS SYSTEM REQUIRES AT LEAST ONE UPGRADE KIT FOR PEPTIDE SYNTHESIS.
Includes:
- Upgrade Kit: 48 Column Synthesis with Shaker - Allows for the synthesis of up to 48 peptides in parallel using individual columns (2-, 5-, 10-, and 20-mL) at a synthesis scale of 5-500 µmol.
- Upgrade Kit: SPOT Synthesis (Two Membranes) - Allows for the synthesis of up to 1200 peptides on two cellulose membranes.
- Upgrade Kit: CelluSpots™ (Two 384-Well Plates) - Allows for the synthesis of arrays of peptide-cellulose-conjugates spotted onto planar surfaces such as glass slides. A new way to generate many identical peptide arrays from only one synthesis. Up to 768 peptides can be synthesized in parallel.
