Model 946 Lead-Acid Battery While the nickel-cadmium battery has traditionally been the usual battery for powering Isco products, Teledyne Isco also offers a 6.5 ampere-hour gelled-electrolyte 12-volt lead-acid battery (see Figure 2-2). Either battery will operate an Isco sampler, flow meter, portable pump, or other equipment satisfactorily, but there are differences in the charging and operating characteristics of the lead-acid battery.

The lead-acid battery offers higher capacity than the nickel-cadmium battery at a lower price. However, fewer charge-discharge cycles are generally possible.
