MATEST Automatic Binder Extraction Unit, Solvent-Based Bitumen Analysis, Electromagnetic Sieving, Centrifuge & Solvent Recovery

The MATEST Automatic Binder Extraction Unit provides reliable, solvent-based analysis of bituminous mixtures using perchloroethylene (PCE) or tetrachloroethylene (R40-rated, non-cancer producing*). Designed for quantitative determination of binder or bitumen in pavement and hot mix samples, this fully automatic system integrates sieving, centrifuge separation, and solvent recovery for precise and repeatable testing.

Product Features

  • Performs complete process: washing, disaggregation, and separation of bituminous mixtures
  • Separates filler from the solvent/bitumen/filler solution
  • Recovers and distills solvent material for reuse, reducing waste
  • Electromagnetic sieving unit with double vibrating action (vertical and rotational) and solvent spraying cover
  • Continuous flow filterless centrifuge, rotation speed of 11,000 rpm, with Ø 120 mm stainless steel beaker (approx. 400 g filler capacity)
  • Solvent recovery unit with reclaiming capacity of 50 l/h and automated cooling control
  • Separate control panel enabling fully automatic operation or manual mode selection
  • Supplied with two stainless steel beakers Ø 120 mm, four stainless steel sieves Ø 200 mm (openings: 0.063, 0.250, 0.800, 2 mm), one sieve frame Ø 200 mm, and set of O-ring gaskets

Benefits

  • Automates complex binder extraction steps, improving accuracy and repeatability
  • Reuses solvent through integrated recovery system, reducing operational costs
  • High-speed centrifuge ensures fast, efficient filler separation
  • Electromagnetic sieving unit enhances sample disaggregation and washing quality
