- Spiral wound heating element-packs more heating element into each inch of cord.
- Heat to 850ºF (454ºC)
- Only 3/16" diameter-ideal for heating in tight spaces
240 VAC models have stripped ends.
Use this table to determine the best coil spacing for you application. For example, to achieve a maximum temperature of 602 ºF (317ºC) on a 1" OD tubing at 120 VAC, you need to space the heating coils 1/4" apart.
Rugged, small-diameter cords heat small vessels or tubes where space is too limited for heating tapes. Heatglass, ceramic, or metal. Cords are suitable for laboratory, production, or maintenance applications. A tough, woven fiberglass outer sheath protects you from electrical hazards. NiChrome wire, spiral-wound around the core, packs more heating element into the cord.
Control heating cord temperature with our DIGI-SENSE® temperature controller model 89800-02 (sold below right) or vary the output of 240 VAC models with variable-voltage transformers 01575-05 or -15). Heating cords are supplied with two cord ties and 10" leads.
