Hello, We just received the Masterflex L/S Easy-Load II pump. And for some reason we have differences when filling 1/2 oz and 2 oz bottles. We have calibrated the machine constantly but it doesn't improved the operation. We are using a LS 17 tubing. I don't understand why we have differences. The length of the tubing is the same for both heads. Please advicethanks

The 77200-62 is meant for use with High-Performance precision tubing sizes L/S 15, L/S 24, L/S 35, & L/S 36. The use of other tubes sizes will produce unpredictable flow rates. In addition to the tube size,there are a couple of things to consider. First, if both heads are mounted onto the same drive, our test Lab data shows that in most cases there is a difference in flow rates between two or more identical pumps simultaneously mounted on one drive. The difference averages around 5%, but could be as much as 10%. This is due to the fact that there is a 45° offset from one pump head shaft to the next. You may use a flow regulator to get better accuracy. Second, peristaltic pump tubing show a distinct increase in flow stability after the first few minutes of pumping. During this break-in period the tubing adapts to the repeated compression of the rollers. For tubing in the L/S sizes, the break-in period is 10 to 15 minutes. I am in University of Alberta doing research on oil emulsions. We have 77200-62 with us and working well. I wish to introduce a flow regulator valve in the supply line of the pump. Can we introduce that for flow regulation?.

Generally the flow is regulated by the speed of the drive. Putting a regulator in place could cause back pressure build-up and other problems (like higher frequency of tubing changes and tubing ruptures. Please call to discuss further.
