They offer comprehensive personnel, product and environmental protection from hazardous particulates, including agents requiring BSL 1-4 containment. Ideal for applications involving antineoplastic drugs, genetic material and other hazardous airborne particulates. Designed for versatility, they exhaust ULPA-filtered air into the laboratory, or into an exhaust system through the optional Ventus II Canopy Connection.
Room air is drawn into the grille located in the air foil, and directed under the work surface by negative pressure. The air beneath the work surface contains unfiltered room air and air that has just passed through the work area. This air is drawn by the blower through the back plenum of the cabinet, where approximately 70% of the air is recirculated through the supply ULPA filter and back over the work area as laminar clean air. The balance of the contaminated air is discharged to the environment as clean air after passing through the exhaust ULPA filter.
